Progress Update at MK Care Home

Progress Update: Applewood Care Home in Milton Keynes

Why are we excited about our recent visit to the new state-of-the-art 78-bed care home in Milton Keynes for @HC-One? Because creating exceptional living spaces for our elderly population is at the heart of what we do.

Our Technical Director, Scott Smallwood, and Architectural Technologist, Jack Dudley, were on-site to witness firsthand the significant progress made by @LawrenceBaker. They shared a video update with the RDT team, underscoring the importance of every step in this journey.

Scott reported that most of the scaffolding has been removed, symbolising a major milestone towards completion. Internally, the plastering and tiling on the upper floors, and the installation of glazing on the balcony areas, demonstrate our commitment to creating beautiful, functional spaces. The start of vinyl flooring on the lower floors and the ongoing external hard landscaping reflect our dedication to detail and quality.

Applewood Care Home is designed to offer luxurious communal amenities, such as scenic gardens, spacious lounges and dining areas, a bar, bistro, hair and beauty salon, cinema, library, and a private dining space. These facilities are crafted to enhance the residents' quality of life, ensuring they have a comfortable and enriching environment.

Meeting with the dedicated project team of HC-One, main contractor Lawrence Baker, Cheylesmore Estates, Ashden Project Managers and Dixon Wright Building Consultants, reaffirms our collective passion for this project.

Scheduled for completion in late 2024, this will be HC-One’s second facility in Milton Keynes, marking another step forward in providing top-tier care environments.
