RDT have been involved from conception on this new 28 bedroom specialist acute brain injury care facility for Inspire Neurocare.
The needs of the end user were of paramount importance from the outset. The future residents profile includes those who suffer from physical and cognitive conditions. The residents living experience and desire to provide a home-from-home domestic environment will be delivered within the building and externally within the landscaped gardens with good levels of comfort and flexibility in the choice in their day to day lives.
The form of the building, choice of materials and language allow users to navigate around the outside of the building while identifying with the internal function through the architecture. A modern take on a traditional design form was supported by all stakeholders.
RDT were involved at the feasibility, planning and construction drawing stages working with Hamberley Development on the wider masterplan which included the design of a new care home ‘Dashwood Manor’ for Hamberley Care Homes. Following RDT Architects pre-construction project stage involvement with Hamberley Development we were appointed by the main contractor Lancer Scott during the build phase.
