Broxbourne Nursing Home received a Highly Commended award in the recent Herts & Beds CE Club Awards.

This new purpose built 77 bedroom nursing care home in Broxbourne for Herts County Council is operated by Gold Care Homes and was part of a 3.6 acre redevelopment on a former primary school site and RDT worked on the conceptual design, planning and construction phases.

The riverside care home is delivered over two floors with clustered household living groups surrounding a central courtyard garden with further communal facilities including a café, lounges, activity room and hair salon opening out over a number of amenity gardens, terraces and balconies. There is also provision for bariatric care and an isolation ward.

RDT were delighted to be recognised in the HBCEC awards which aim to showcase and celebrate excellence, innovation and progress in the construction industry in this area and attract entries from all types and sizes of organisations throughout Herts, Beds and beyond.

There were 8 categories this year and the awards event was held at BRE Garston which was followed by a tour of the Innovation Park.

The winners from each category will go on to compete in the East Regional Awards, and then the chance to be crowned winners at the National Constructing Excellence Awards.
