Garden Court Care Home is a 2 acre redevelopment of a former primary school site.

 

RDT Architects completed feasibility and planning stages for a new build 75 bedroom dementia care home with excellent BREEAM rating.

This purpose built home accommodates a communal hub providing café/bistro, hair salons, shops and care support facilities.  Each residential wing is sub divided into household groups of 7 or 8 residents, providing the sense of ownership and varying levels of privacy and choice.

RDT retained as design advisors during the construction phase and appointed by main contractor for detailed design services.

This dementia design scheme won Architect of the Year in Herts Building and Construction Awards 2017, SME of the Year in CE Regional Awards 2017 and a Commendation in Herts Association of Architects Awards 2016.
